Think Twice
Think Twice is not your regular conference of endless panels with little room for interaction. It is a space where ideas meet policy, and where discussions can influence the future of digital rights, democracy, and technology in Europe. It has previously been organized by Pirates Parties International, and this year, for the first time, the European Pirates will join as co-organizer of the event. We hope to see you there as a speaker!
Call for Speakers — Closed
The Call for Speakers for Think Twice 2026 is now closed.
Thank you to everyone who submitted a proposal and contributed their ideas to this year’s program. The conference brings together researchers, practitioners, policymakers, activists, and other voices to explore the opportunities and risks that artificial intelligence presents for digital freedom.
The 2026 edition focuses on:
AI & Governance: Opportunities and Risks for Digital Freedom
with two central themes:
AI for Governance – How can AI strengthen democratic institutions, improve public services, and enhance civic participation?
Governance of AI – How can societies regulate AI to ensure accountability, fairness, transparency, and the protection of fundamental rights?
The speaker program is now being finalized.

AI is reshaping our societies. Think Twice brings different perspectives together to explore not only what AI can do, but also how it should be governed and what its impact means for democratic societies and fundamental rights.
