HR Team

Our HR Team ensures the operational stability of the organisation. It oversees hires, onboarding and does organizational management. The team is headed by Federica and is a diverse team of motivated and talented people.

Federica – Team Leader Operations

Federica is a welcome addition to the team responsible for welcome additions! An experienced EU program- and operations professional with a history of working with European institutions, NGO’s and civil society. Experience in grant management, governance-and-strategic partnerships with a strong focus on compliance, transparency and impact driven delivery makes her a great fit for the role. With a structured, yet human-centered approach and analytical lense with a strong sense for responsibility and talent. She is driven by values, purpose and a long term vision, that is why she has chosen European Pirates.

Champa Aown – Recruiter

Champa Aown is a Human Resources professional with over 9 years of experience in HR operations, recruitment, employee engagement, training, and organisational development. Based in Brussels, Belgium, she has built her career supporting organisations through effective people management, process improvement, and team coordination.

Her professional experience includes working in large-scale environments, managing recruitment processes, employee lifecycle activities, HR compliance, training initiatives, and stakeholder coordination. She has expertise in HR systems, performance management, and developing efficient people-focused processes.

Champa joined the European Pirates Secretariat in 2026, where she supports the team with her HR expertise, organisational skills, and commitment to collaboration, transparency, and strong team structures.

She holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration specializing in Human Resources and a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce. Fluent in English,Hindi, Marathi and Bengali with a good understanding of Dutch and French, she brings a multicultural perspective and a passion for supporting inclusive organisations.

Stefania Porrà – Wellbeing officer

Stefania joined the European Pirates Party’s Wellbeing Team in February, motivated by her interest in people, engagement, and creating a welcoming environment where everyone can contribute. Her past experiences have taught her the value of listening, working together, and making space for different perspectives. For her, being a Pirate is about learning from others, getting involved, and helping build a community where people can feel supported and connected.

Stefania is a multilingual professional with a background in sport science, customer support, and people-focused roles. During her time at Accenture in Ireland, she supported employee engagement and wellness initiatives, which strengthened her interest in wellbeing, inclusion, and creating positive environments where people can connect and participate.

Her experiences working in multicultural environments have taught her the value of listening, working together, and making space for different perspectives. She is currently pursuing a career in Human Resources, with a growing focus on people management, employee engagement, wellbeing, and diversity and inclusion.

Stefania joined the European Pirates’ Wellbeing Team at the beginning of 2026, motivated by her interest in people, engagement, and creating a welcoming environment where everyone can contribute. For her, being a Pirate is about learning from others, getting involved, and helping build a community where people feel supported, connected, and able to participate.
